Lazy Kids and College Admissions

WE CURRENTLY HAVE A GENERATION OF LAZY AND SENSITIVE CHILDREN THAT WANT THINGS HANDED TO THEM. THEY DON'T WANT TO WORK FOR ANYTHING. COLLEGES ARE GOING YO JUST GIVE THEM AN EASIER WAY IN? THIS MAKES NO SENSE. BACKGROUND ASIDE, WHETHER THEY ARE POOR, RICH OR IN TH MIDDLE THEY PLAYING FIELD IN SCHOOL SHOULD BE LEVELED. THAT'S WHAT THESE KIDS GO TO SCHOOL FOR. Oscars Boycott

I hardly watch any award shows from the Oscars to the BET awards to the Grammy's. They don't showcase the right talent on my estimation whether they are black, white, Asian, Hispanic or any other race or culture.

Here's where the problem lies with black celebrities calling for a boycott of the Oscars, why haven't you banded together to start your own awards show for blacks? The NAACP and BET awards aren't enough. The Screen Actors Guild(SAG) doesn't do enough. A boycott isn't enough. Start putting all that money you made where your art is. There is plenty of talent among producers, directors, actors/actresses and musicians to put together and awards show for blacks and those of our kind to be successful.

There are plenty of venues around the country where enough of our kind can come together without fighting and guns ablazing for a good time to present and honor those in the film and television.

It's long overdue as Hollywood keeps overlooking us. An award here and there to Taraji or Viola isn't getting us anywhere.

We deserve our own. Someone needs to step up and say enough is enough and out this together. When do they become motivated, ambitious and determined to say we can do this for our art and for the fans that love them?

Church Selfie

As I scrolled through my timeline on Facebook this morning it was interesting to people taking selfies and videos at church. It's hard to see that this is what the place of worship has become. Prior to service it use to be handshakes and hugs with a bit of conversation. The older generation is from back in the is gone. Now our parents generation has taken over and they are to be the elders and go to people of he church to get things right and keep it in order but they barely say a word. They will say something behind closed doors instead of to the person's face. What happened to keeping real. Isn't this known as gossip? We all know they will put extra on it. The point is this: as adults we have to set good and better examples for the kids and youth in the church whether you're a member of the church or a visitor. The only way to keep kids motivate motivated, ambitious and determined about going and learning about Jesus in my opinion is by doing the right thing outside of the church as well as inside the church. A selfie may not always be the best answer but a hug to a child that you know gives them more encouragement than anything else. It will give them a smile to get their day or week started of it's missing from their home.
